A burglar fled a house after being disturbed by the homeowners.
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to the break in which happened on the Isle of Wight.
Officers say the incident happened at around 11.45am on October 18, when a man broke into a house on Glynn Close in Nettlestone.
The man was disturbed by the occupants of the property and ran from the scene.
Jewellery items including a neck chain, and a gold ring with a black onyx centre, were reported missing following the incident.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or saw a man acting suspiciously in the area.
Detective Constable Gillian Harvey said: “This offence happened during daylight hours, and there may have been people around who saw something.
“We would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at this time to contact police immediately.”
A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and has been bailed until December 15.
