A SEARCH for a missing person was carried out at the Hampshire coast.
Lymington and Southampton Coastguard Rescue Teams, Lymington, Calshot and Mudeford RNLI lifeboats and the UK Coastguard extensively searched the Keyhaven area with a rescue helicopter from Lee on Solent but found nothing.
The Hampshire Marine Police were also involved but all search and rescue teams were stood down shortly after 4pm pending further information.
A Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokeswoman refused to answer whether they believed someone was still missing in the water.
