The organisers of the Luminate Southampton event to mark the opening of the Watermark leisure complex this afternoon have just informed the Echo that the time of the first light show will be 5pm not 6pm as had been announced in the run-up to the event.

Scenes depicting  the history of Southampton will be projected onto the city walls below the new complex.

The show will run every 15 minutes until 7pm.

The organisers have also announced another time change - the lantern parade to the Watermark will now be leaving Guildhall Square at 4pm instead of 3pm as billed.

The 100 primary school children who were set to take part are now no longer participating inte procession, say the Watermark's PR firm.
