A WOMAN was rescued at Old Harry Rocks after having fallen from the cliff top.
Police, the RNLI and members of the coastguard were called to the scene this morning at around 7.40am following reports of concerns for a woman's welfare.
"It was reported that a woman had fallen to the bottom of some cliffs at Old Harry Rocks," a police spokesman said.
"She was located by the coastguard and has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital."
A spokesman for the Coastguard said there were contacted by a member of the public who made a 999 call.
They sent rescue teams from Swanage and Lee-on-the-Solent.
The spokesman said: "The casualty was winched on board and flown to Southampton General Hospital where they were met by Southampton rescue teams."
The woman's injuries are not yet known.
