A HAMPSHIRE man has been charged after a woman was allegedly robbed.
Andrew Sweatman, 31, of no fixed address, appeared before Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with one count of attempted robbery following an incident on January 11.
The 31-year-old has been accused of trying to steal a handbag from a 63-year-old woman in Boulton Road, Southsea.
Sweatman, who was arrested on Sunday, has been bailed until March 20.
The Daily Echo previously reported a series of four robberies which took place between January 8 and January 12 in Southsea.
