FREEZING fog is continuing to cause travel disruption this evening including delays on Hampshire's ferries.

The county has been enveloped in freezing fog in recent days and temperatures are again set to plunge overnight.

It is not forecast to be as cold as earlier in the week but the yellow weather warning is in place from 6pm tonight until 11am tomorrow.

Red Jet ferries between Southampton and the Isle of Wight are currently operating a shuttle service due to poor visibility.

The fog is also causing delays on Hampshire's motorways and major roads.

A Met Office statement says: "Areas of freezing fog, some dense, are expected to form again during Tuesday evening and last into Wednesday morning.

"The fog will become more widespread through the night, with icy patches on untreated roads and paths an additional hazard.

"Travelling conditions will be difficult with journeys likely to take longer than usual and delays to air travel are possible."
