SOUTHAMPTON AC cross-country ace Alex Teuten finished first English runner and third overall in the IAAF permit match in Caceres, Spain.
Teuten, who is coached by Rod Lock, recorded a time of 31 minutes precisely over the 10k course around the Talayeula Golf Course.
He chased hard to finish behind Bahrain’s El Hassan Elabassi, who won in 30.18, and Ugandan runner-up Phillip Kipyego, who clocked 30.40.
Next up for the Southampton University student is this weekend’s 2017 National Cross Country Championships at Wollaton Park, Nottingham.
