Scared of heights, Sophie Rolls will be abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower to raise money for World Autism Awareness Day.

Sophie, 24, is autistic, and want to raise awareness to others on the autism spectrum that life doesn’t have to be limiting.

Sophie was diagnosed with the condition aged 22.

She said: “I struggled through school, college and social situations throughout my life. I have managed to overcome these struggles by working hard and persevering with the obstacles life has thrown at me.

“After being diagnosed with Autism, the help and support I’ve received has helped me understand my world more.”

World autism awareness day on April 2 is aimed at spreading the message of children with autism throughout the world.

She has currently raised more than £200 of a £1,500 target.

Sophie’s boss at Gosport based GHS Mechanical and Electrical Ltd, Marc Smith said: “Her honesty regards her condition was exemplary at her interview. Where she struggles with some areas of office work she excels in her ability with numbers.”
