Police have launched an appeal after tools were stolen from an outbuilding.

The owner of the outbuilding on the Wood Yard site, in The Middle Road, Isle of Wight, had been away on holiday, but when he returned he found the outbuilding had been broken into.

The stolen tools, which were taken sometime between midnight on February 14 and 3pm on March 16, include four Stihl chainsaws, a small petrol generator and a toolbox filled with large spanners.

PC Tim Campany said: “It may well be that a vehicle was used during this burglary.

“Did you notice anything suspicious? Do you remember seeing a vehicle parked on The Middle Road outside the gated yard during this period? If so, please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Campany on 101, quoting 44170099078.

Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
