HAMPSHIRE firefighters have today rescued three teenage girls who were trapped about 30ft above the base of cliffs.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) spokesman said the girls were stranded in a cave near the bottom of chalk cliffs at Paulsgrove, near Portsmouth.
Two fire crews from Cosham placed a ladder against the cliffs, enabling the girls to climb down and walk to safety.
A Southsea crew equipped with an aerial ladder platform was also sent to the scene but was not needed.
The rescue operation was completed at 5.50pm - just half an hour after the emergency call came in.
Now HFRS bosses have taken to social media to warn teenagers to stay safe.
They tweeted: "Cliffs are dangerous."
