A HAMPSHIRE community radio presenter is taking to the ring for a special charity boxing match next weekend.

Unity 101 presenter Aryana Vashisht will be fighting in an Ultra White Collar Boxing match at Southampton's Novotel next Saturday.

Raising money for Cancer Research UK, Aryana is also using the fight to get in shape for beauty pageant Miss Continents UK, where she is a finalist.

After starting her training in February, Ms Vashisht says this is one of the biggest challenges she has ever faced.

"The training is very challenging and the trainers push you to your limits trying to get you in fighting shape," she said.

"Combos, sparring and endurance training are just some of the elements."

"It's definitely hard but it's so worth it. And raising money for Cancer Research UK throughout really does remind you of why we are all training for this."

Writing on her justgiving page, Aryana, a former Miss Southampton, added: "I'm no way near a boxer, so this will be a huge challenge for me and also a once in a life time event. So I would really appreciate all my friends and family's support!

"Adults and children are suffering with cancer all over the world and the work that Cancer Research UK do is incredible. We should push ourselves to help and raise money for them, as they are pushing themselves to the limits everyday."
