AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Hampshire girl has donated more than 40cm of her hair to charity.

Rosie Marszall, from Netley Abbey, donated her locks to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs from real hair for poorly children, and raised more than £400 in the process.

Laura Marszall, Rosie’s mum, says her daughter loves her hair and usually only has it cut every two years.

Mrs Marszall said: “Originally I had the idea but she loves her hair. Then she had a change of heart; I think she realised it would eventually grow back!”

Rosie said: “I am doing this because I feel really sorry for the people who have lost their hair with cancer.

“I realised that people aren’t all as lucky as us and by having wigs made for them I can help them.

“I used to not want to do it but now I feel like it is important for the people who have lost their hair. I think it’s really nice if they had a wig to wear so everybody would feel happier about themselves.”
