A Southampton storage facility has donated more than 100 Easter eggs to charity.

They were donated to the Rainbow Centre, a charity that supports children with cerebral palsy and adults with head injuries, MS and Parkinson’s disease.

Access self-storage in Millbrook gave 109 eggs to the centre, based in Fareham, beating last year’s total of 75.

Manager at the facility, Helen McPhail said: “We really do want to thank the generous people who popped in with these donations. We’re extremely proud of our efforts to beat our target for 2017.

“The Rainbow Centre does incredible work, helping very brave people of all ages battling serious medical conditions. Easter is a time when the gift of a chocolate egg really can make a difference. We’ll make it an even happier occasion for many who can’t be at home with their families.”

Since the Access self storage Easter egg collection started five years ago, more than 2,800 eggs have been donated to dozens of UK charities, with 800 eggs collected across the UK last year, with the Southampton store donating the fifth highest amount.
