IS IT any surprise to anyone with an ounce of common sense that councils charging to deposit certain items of waste in tips would increase fly tipping in our area?
It beggars belief that the ‘brains’ that run our cities and counties cannot, it seems, understand these things, and human nature at it’s worst.
A child of 10 could have predicted the outcome!
Most people are responsible enough to use tips, but there will always be a few that can’t be bothered, and especially if there is a charge to deposit waste.
Dealing with waste will always incur a cost, and that’s what our council tax pays for.
The cost to clear up fly tipping by far exceeds the income generated from collecting fees at the tip.
This retraction can`t come soon enough!
