ALTHOUGH they were refounded in 1956 as a Saturday club, they enjoyed an incredible rise through the leagues in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Colden Common FC decided to field a Sunday side in 1973, and did so well they soon accumulated 24 Sunday league and cup trophies.

Because of this sweet taste of success, it was decided they would switch their efforts to Saturday football.

Guided by Ron Shaw and Mick Geddes, the team rose eight levels in six years, climbing from Southampton Junior League Division 2 to Hampshire League Division 1.

It is however the 2003/04 season that’s generally deemed as the clubs most successful, with both the 1st team and the reserves achieving a league and cup double.
