A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being attacked in a Southampton alleyway.
The cut-through between Winchester Street and London Road near Junk nightclub is currently cordoned off and officers are guarding the area.
Officers were called to the scene on Vernon Walk at about 12.10am to a public incident involving a number of people.
A 42-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in police custody.
A 44-year-old man from the city was taken to Southampton General Hospital but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
A spokesman for Junk said the incident did not relate to the nightclub and that the venue will be open tonight as normal.
