Fire crews were called to pub after a fire broke out.
Managers at the Dolphin in Botley evacuated customers after a boiler caught fire.
Around 30 people were asked to leave the pub and told to go home after managers decided to close for the night on Saturday.
Manager Stuart Watson said the incident happened at around 7pm in the boiler room which is separated from the rest of the pub.
He said: “It was just starting to get busy. We let everyone go for safety reasons but we’re fully open today.”
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said four engines from Botley, Hightown and Wickham were called to the incident, which lasted until 8.18pm.
