EMERGENCY services were called to a derelict pub on Saturday night.
The Hare and Hounds was being investigated after police were alerted to the possible use of dangerous substances.
A detection and identifying monitor was sent from Winchester fire station at 9.45pm and found hairspray and upholstery cleaner had been used.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: "We were called at 6.58pm to a report of youths at the derelict pub.
"Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service checked out a chemical smell and confirmed there is nothing hazardous."
