TOTTON & ELING FC are staging their annual sponsored fun run and junior football tournament on the weekend of May 20/21.

Funds will be split between the football club and this year’s chosen charity Austism Hampshire.

The Millers cater for a broad spectrum of age-groups - from the Mini Tigers boys and girls, aged from four years, to the senior men’s side in the Sydenhams Wessex League Division One.

The route for the Saturday morning (May 20) sponsored run will begin at Millers Park, go round Testwood Lakes and then back to the stadium. The entire club will be involved, with a smaller course set up for the Mini Tigers.

The six-a-side football tournament will be staged on the Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday (May 21) on the main Millers Park pitch, catering for U7, U8, U9, U10, U14 and U15 age-groups.

Entry is £25 per team with a maximum of ten players per team (age-groups as per the 2016/17 season).

There will be stalls, games, raffles and refreshments available so that all the family can get involved and enjoy a fun weekend.

Event organiser Ian Clark explained: “Totton & Eling FC and Austism Hampshire are the two reasons behind this fundraising event.

“The club relies solely on sponsorship and fundraising events like these to support all our age-groups and maintain our wonderful facility at Millers Park.

“Austism Hampshire is our chosen charity this year.

“I have a five-year-old son who is autistic, so obviously it’s a charity that’s very close to my heart.

“As a family, we were given huge support from various organisations from this area and we’re very thankful that our county provides guidance and support for families and individuals who are on the autistic spectrum.”

Entry forms for the junior football tournament are available from Ian Clark on 07709 318550 or at ijclark80@yahoo.co.uk.

Ian would also like to hear from anyone able to sponsor the event or donate prizes to the various raffles.
