AMONG the cases heard at West Hampshire Magistrates’ Court sitting in Southampton were:

Stephen John Austin, 55, of Main Road, Brockenhurst, New Forest. Pleaded guilty to speeding. Fined £769 and given six points on his licence. Ordered to pay £76 victim services surcharge and £85 costs.

Sharon Denise Payne, 41, of Sewall Drive, Bishopstoke. Pleaded guilty to the theft of a Mercedes and driving it without a licence or insurance. An accident occurred in which damage of less than £5,000 was caused to another car. Curfew requirement made with electronic monitoring and to be under curfew for ten weeks between 7am and 7pm. Disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £100 compensation.

Joga Singh, 44, of Parsonage Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to trespassing on a level crossing and being in possession of cocaine. Fined £180 and ordered to pay a victim services surcharge of £30.

Lewis William Mark Chalmers, 28, of no fixed address. Pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Given a five-week prison sentence and ordered to pay £50 compensation.

Steven David Wayne Drury, 41, of Sedbergh Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to stealing four bottles of spirits and two packets of razor blades from Tesco. Given a 14-day prison sentence and ordered to pay a victim services surcharge of £115.

Also pleaded guilty to stealing £230.50 worth of spirits from Sainsburys. Given 14-day prison sentence (concurrent).

Kenny Aaron McPherson, 35, of Olive Road, Southampton. Found guilty of possession of a class A drug. Given a four-week prison sentence, added to one-week current custodial sentence.

Also pleaded guilty to stealing £155 cash to McColls. Committed to prison for five weeks (concurrent) and ordered to pay £155 compensation.

Andrew Gavin Morrow, 32, of Harrier Green, Holbury, New Forest. Pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle while disqualified and without insurance. Community order made and to be placed on electronic monitoring for three months from 7pm until midnight. Disqualified from driving for 10 months.

Vernon John Whitehouse, 51, of Whithedwood Avenue, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to stealing two boxes of chocolates and two bottles of champagne from Sainsburys. Community order made and a drug rehabilitation requirement made for six months. Ordered to pay £85 victim services surcharge.

Jason Anthony Williams, 36, of no fixed address. Pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order. Committed to prison for 16 weeks and ordered to pay £115 victim services surcharge.

Steven James Parsons, 38, of Clydesdale Way, Totton, New Forest. Pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers. Fined £250 and ordered to pay £30 victim service surcharge and £85 costs.

Arkadijs Petrovs, 37, of Oxford Avenue, Southampton. Found guilty of stealing headphones from Curry’s and without reasonable cause to surrender to custody after being released on bail. Fined £125 and ordered to pay £325 costs.

Arkadijs Petrovs, 37, of Oxford Avenue, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to stealing perfume from TK Maxx worth £59.99. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £59.99 compensation. Also pleaded guilty to stealing a Help for Heroes t-shirt and a pair of jeans from Debenhams. Fined £100.

Iain Gerald Trott, 48, of James Street, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to stealing £84 worth of perfume from Hollister. Given a nine-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £20 victim services surcharge.
