IT WAS the biggest race in its history.
More boats than ever before took to the water for the Hamble River Raid this year.
Hundreds of competitors including rowers, canoeists, kayakers and stand-up paddleboarders jumped on a total of 100 vessels in a series of races from Hamble Quay to the Jolly Sailor pontoon and back.
The race saw also 40 youngsters taking part.
During the day money was raised to support local causes and organisations such as the Hamble Sea Scouts.
Registration for next year are already open and the event will take place on May 19, 2018.
