IT IS the video that shows a Hampshire railway route from a “unique” point of view.

The train journey from Portsmouth to Southampton has been filmed from the driver’s cab to give residents a view they would not be able to enjoy otherwise.

Videographer David Alligan has recently released the video and said: “When you are on the train you only see the view from the side windows not from the front window and I wanted to give people a different point of view.”

Mr Alligan, 55, from Suffolk, is the owner of the Angels Media and Craft Studios and has been working as a videographer for the past decade.

He made a similar video in the past few months, filming the route from Portsmouth to London Waterloo.

“I then thought to do Portsmouth to Southampton as it was a natural progression. You feel that you are sitting with the train driver at the front and you are there to enjoy the view. It’s like you are driving the train,” he said.

The journey begun in Portsmouth and and the train stopped at Fratton, Hilsea, Cosham, Portchester, Fareham, Swanwick, Bursledon, Hamble, Netley, Sholing, Woolston, Bitterne, St Denys and Southampton.
