IT WAS an unusual sight as rugby players donned their finest fancy dress and scrummed together in aid of a Southampton event.
The fancy dress fundraiser at Millbrook Rugby Football Club raised £500 in aid of Southampton Pride.
The match was part of a one day event held by Wessex Wyverns LGBT rugby club, who held a 'give it a try' session open to the public before the fancy dress inter-club match.
They then went to the Stage Door for drinks and a raffle before ending the night with an after-party at top Southampton LGBT venue The Edge.
Then money will go towards the cost of running the August 26 event on West Marlands Road.
Last year crowds surpassed expectations when 5,000 people showed up to celebrate achievements and solidarity with the LGBT community after a nightclub massacre in Orlando, Florida, killed 49 people and wounded 58 others.
