AN 87-year-old woman died at Southampton General Hospital after a fall in a care home a Winchester inquest has heard.
Maisie Patricia Gates lived at Oaklands Rest Home in Veals Lane, Marchwood and died on February 10, 2017 after a fall at the home.
Mrs Gates suffered a fall on the stairs of the home on February 5, at approximately 6.20pm, however emergency services did not arrive until about 7pm.
The court heard that Mrs Gates suffered from dementia and although she not had a history of falls, she had a significant fall a year earlier.
The pathologist Dr Mark Walker said Mrs Gates died from bronchial pneumonia due to a traumatic head injury and a hematoma.
The senior coroner Grahame Short recorded a verdict of accidental death.
