A SOUTHAMPTON pub has reopened its doors after an £80,000 investment.

The Angel Inn will welcomed customers in to experience its new interior after a joint investment from new licensee Wendy Teague and community pub company, Admiral Taverns.

The watering hole has been redeveloped with a bigger focus on sports, with new 65-inch screens having been fitted as part of the changes.

Pool tables, stronger wireless internet and live entertainment will also be introduced, with the pub having topped up its food menu to include burgers and pizzas.

The pub has been shut since the beginning of the month for the refurbishments to take place.

New licensee Wendy Teague said: “I can’t wait to open the doors. I have always loved the pub and the people in it. Along with my daughters, we have worked hard pulling the new offer together and had plenty of fun learning to make the classic cocktails on the new drinks menu.

“I’m looking forward to getting the huge TV screens fired up for Southampton FC’s games later in the summer and throughout the season.“We are so excited about the new food menu, drinks menu and the whopping TVs and can’t wait to welcome the regulars back as well as the students up the road and sports fans alike.”

Business development manager for Admiral Taverns, Anna Clissold said: “The Angel is a pub I know very well from my time at university. In fact, I think much of my student loan was spent in the place!

“I am so proud and pleased that Wendy and her team are putting so much time and effort into creating such a fantastic new offer for the community.

“The transformation is really impressive and it will provide a fantastic hub for the community in Southampton.”
