A POPULAR cafe has been damaged in a break-in.
The Parklife cafe in St James’s Park was targeted at around 2.15am on Wednesday when a stone was thrown through the window of the community room
Volunteer and chair of the board Barrie Worth said two intruders left the building minutes afterwards when the alarm went off.
Mr Worth said: “As far as we are aware so far nothing has been taken but I think it will cost hundreds of pounds to fix.”
Manager Laura Trotter added: “We’ve had to be closed all day so we’ve lost a lot of trade as the park was very busy because it was good weather. “
A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are on-going and neighbourhood officers will be patrolling the area.
“Anyone with information, or who witnessed the incident, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 44170288606.”
