MOTORISTS are being warned about a number of closures on a major Hampshire motorway next week.

Work at several points along the M3 are set to take place.

On Monday, July 31, ditch clearing will be undertaken between junctions 10 and 11 southbound, near Winchester.

This is to “ensure road user safety by removing debris from a catchment ditch”.

As a result, lane one of the main southbound carriageway and on the southbound entry slip road at junction 10 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am.

Drainage surveys are also to be undertaken next Friday at junction 14 for Eastleigh.

The link from the M3 southbound carriageway to the M27 westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on 4 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M27 junction 5.

Elsewhere in the county, bridge strengthening is taking place at junction 6 for Basingstoke.

Narrow lanes will be in place 24/7 on the roundabout beneath the M3 until February 2018.
