STAFF and customers at a Hampshire pub are celebrating its new-look following an £87,000 refurbishment.

National pub company Punch and business partners Richard Hiller and Jo Chapman have given the Robin Hood in Sholing, Southampton a major makeover.

The pub, in South East Road has been redecorated inside and out and has new toilets and a new bar.

Publicans, Richard and Jo, say they are taking the Robin Hood back to its roots as a traditional pub in the week with darts and pool teams, along with a monthly quiz.

They will also be offering live music at the weekends along with screenings of big sporting events.

Richard said it was important that they offered something for everyone.

“We are introducing a new food menu which includes fresh pizzas, pies and sausage rolls,” he said.

“We have increased our drinks range and now have six real ales on at a time, along with a new cocktail menu”.

“Opening night was a fantastic success and lots of the community came to celebrate with us. Myself, Jo and the team feel incredibly lucky to bring the Robin Hood back to the people of Sholing”.

Richard and Jo, experienced publicans, grew up in Sholing and visited the pub many times as customers, but have now decided to step behind the bar in a bid to ensure it remains a hub of the community.
