HUNDREDS turned out for this year’s community fun day in Bitterne.
The event was opened by Southampton City Council’s mayor councillor Les Harris, who gave a speech to get proceedings underway.
There were a number of activities for children and adults to enjoy including face-painting, street dance, hair braiding, a treasure hunt, arts and crafts, football, bouncy castles and an assault course.
The event was supported by Southampton City Council, Sainsbury’s and the junior neighbourhood wardens.
Cllr Warwick Payne, cabinet member for housing and adult care, said: “Our junior neighbourhood wardens – including co-ordinator Ian Mitchell – have done a fine job preparing this year’s Bitterne community fun day.”
