A SOUTHAMPTON park has been cordoned off since the early hours of this morning after a distressed teenage girl was found.
Police and forensic officers are on scene taking evidence from an overnight incident at Houndwell Park.
The wooden titanic ship is taped off within the cordon as forensic staff continue to sweep it for potential evidence.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that it was called at just after 5.30am after a member of the public found the upset girl in the park.
She was taken to hospital as a precaution and is not believed to have been injured.
A constabulary spokeswoman said: "Officers are currently carrying out enquiries at the scene in Houndwell Park to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident."
An officer at the scene said: "We had an incident overnight and we have been here since we started our shift at 7am."
