FORMER Winchester City skipper Warren Bentley is on the move again.

The skilful forward has left Hungerford Town to join their Vanarama National League South rivals Poole.

A Dolphins statement said: “Tom Killick (manager) has long been an admirer of Bentley, a player who has scored goals wherever he has played.

“After losing top scorer Marvin Brooks (to Salisbury) in pre-season, the signing of Tony Lee seemed to bring the squad up to full strength. However, a cruel ACL injury to Luke Roberts again limited attacking options.

“With Richard Gillespie approaching full fitness and Olly Balmer showing real promise as he progresses in senior football, the Dolphins will soon have options.

“Bentley gives an immediate boost to the squad ahead of an important away trip to Whitehawk (tomorrow).

“The competition for places that Warren’s signing will bring can only help the Dolphins going forward.”

Bentley, a PE teacher at The Sholing Technology College, scored goals galore for his home town club Alresford before climbing up through the leagues.

He netted 113 times in two seasons for Winchester prior to stepping up two levels with Gosport Borough.

He left Gosport for Hungerford in January this year amid the financial crisis engulfing the Privett Park club.

Poole have also boosted their squad by completing a loan deal for young AFC Bournemouth left-back Ollie Harfield.

Harfield has been with the Cherries for three years having previously spent seven with Southampton.

Having impressed for Bournemouth’s under-21 squad, he made his unofficial first-team debut in Warren Cummings’ testimonial against AC Milan.
