HAMPSHIRE residents looking to the skies over the past two evenings were greeted with a stunning view of the moon.
The Harvest Moon, which is the first full moon rising closest to the autumnal equinox, rose late this year.
And thanks to a cloud-free sky last night and early this morning the county was bathed in lunar light.
The name Harvest Moon dates from when farmers needed brighter light to gather crops, and the full moon allowed them to work for longer in preparation for winter.
Skies are forecast to be clear again on Friday evening so why not grab your camera?
