POLICE have launched a hunt for a man after a robbery in a Southampton shop.

Officers say a man walked into the SNA Convenience Store on Manor Farm Road and grabbed the cashier when she opened the till before stealing £200 cash.

The robber then left the shop on a bike after the incident, which happened between 4.40pm and 4.50pm on Wednesday, October 11.

Anyone who knows the man in the CCTV footage or witnessed the incident is asked to help police.

PC Maria Firth said: "This is a robbery that occurred in the middle of the afternoon, in a busy high street.

"There would have been members of the public in and around the area, including people travelling to and from work or school.

"The shop assistant was assaulted whilst money was taken from the till and despite her attempts to stop the suspect he got away on a bicycle.

"Do you know the man in the CCTV footage? We would like to speak with him in connection with this incident.

"Additionally, if you witnessed the incident then please give us a call."
