A MAN has been arrested for drink driving after a motorway crash, from which two young children were taken to hospital.
The 21-year-old is being questioned by police, following the incident on the M3 near Winchester at around 9.30am today.
Police say a Citroen Berlingo and a Vauxhall Meriva collided on the northbound carriageway between junctions 8 and 9.
The Citroen overturned and police say two young children were rescued from the vehicle and rushed to hospital.
However, officers say that this was just a precaution and neither child suffered serious injuries in the crash.
Police say they do not have details of the children's ages or gender at this time.
Drivers on the northbound carriageway faced delays of up to an hour shortly after the crash.
The Highways Agency has confirmed that all lanes reopened shortly before 10am today, and traffic is now moving as usual.
