THE ICONIC Coca-Cola Christmas truck will be making a stop in Southampton on its UK tour later this month - and this year it will be here for a bonus extra day.

The famous red truck makes a stop at West Quay Shopping Centre on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26 as part of its UK tour.

During the event visitors will get the chance to wander through an enchanted wonderland, complete with seasonal music, before taking a photo with the truck and enjoying a free drink of Coca-Cola.

Once the sun has set, there will also be a special Christmas animation on display featuring 372 lightbulbs and 8,7772 fairylights.

But unlike previous years the truck will not be coming to Winchester.

Aedamar Howlett, marketing director for Coca-Cola Great Britain, said: “Coca-Cola is synonymous with the Christmas season and it’s no secret that our much-loved Christmas Truck Tour marks the unofficial countdown to Christmas.

“We can’t wait to start spreading holiday cheer and we are excited to announce a brand new route for 2017 – which brings a sprinkling of festive magic to fans across the UK.”

Last year hundreds of people queued for the chance to see the truck when it stopped in Guildhall Square on November 30.

The truck has made 397 stops since 2011 and has travelled more than 730,000 miles - the equivalent of 29 times around the world and also forms part of the brand’s iconic Christmas advert which will be screened for the first time this year on November 17.

This year’s tour starts on Saturday, November 11 in Glasgow and will see the truck visit 42 locations across the UK.
