A NEW ice rink has opened up in Winchester.
Located at Winchester Cathedral, the annual Christmas ice rink has returned this week.
Running for more than a decade, it is part of the city's festive celebrations and will be open for people to try out until early January.
Last year 56,000 people took to the ice at the cathedral following the installation of a roof, allowing families can enjoy a rain-free skate.
In previous years the state of rink had left people furious with mild temperatures and rain melting the ice, which the roof aimed to prevent.
The Christmas market has been rated as one of the best both nationally and internationally on several occasions. Tickets are priced at £11.40 with concessions available.
