A BAG of Christmas gifts found at a service station have been handed back to its owners.

The plastic bag full of cards and gifts for loved family members was left at Rownhams services on the M27 on Monday night

But when designer Sian Wood found the bag as she stopped at the east bound services on her way to an appointment she was touched by the messages on the labels and launched a campaign to get them back to their owners.

Now just two days later Ms Wood, 55, said she is "delighted" to have reunited the cards with the aunt and uncle who lost them.

And Ronnie and Ivor Young were "thrilled" to get their gifts back after Ronnie's sister and brother-in-law accidentally dropped them in a parking space at the M27 services.

Ms Young, 69, said: "I was really grateful. My sister lives in Kent and when she came to visit I gave her the cards to take back.

"The bag must have fallen down on the floor this and this lovely lady picked it up. The response has just been fantastic.

"It makes you feel good".

Ms Wood added: "I had no idea we'd find them so quickly. I posted a picture on Monday night and yesterday had a flurry of people get in touch to say 'that's my dad'.

"They were so grateful and wanted to pay for the postage but I said no and just sent them off".
