A MAJOR Southampton road is closed and a motorist is trapped after a crash.
The two-car crash happened on Lordshill Way at about 5pm and a Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman told the Daily Echo that a crew from Redbridge was on the scene.
The road is shut between the roundabout for Rownhams Road North and Woburn Road causing traffic to be congested along Aldermoor Road.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: "We were called at 4.51pm to reports of a collision on Lordshill Way in Southampton, near to the health centre.
"A Mitsubishi and a Vauxhall Corsa were involved.
"It has been reported that someone is trapped in one of the vehicles.
"The road has been closed while emergency services deal with the incident."
Police at the scene told the Daily Echo that they expected the road to be reopened in the next 30 minutes with one car still to be recovered.
It is not known if anyone has been injured in the crash.
