A SHOP WORKER was assaulted during an attempted robbery at a Southampton convenience store.
SNA supermarket on Witts Hill, Midanbury, was targeted on Sunday morning when a man entered the store and assaulted a member of staff.
A Hampshire police spokesman said: “We were called at 6.57am this morning to reports of a robbery attempt at the SNA Supermarket. The man left the store when he was challenged by another member of staff. Nothing has been reported stolen.”

The incident is not being linked to a series of robberies across Southampton and Eastleigh since November 20.
