No ‘bah humbug’ in Southampton
ON ONE of my rare visits to the centre of Southampton, I have to say I was impressed by what I saw.
After many years of “Bah humbug” by the council, when Christmas basically ceased to exist in the city, they have certainly upped their game, in the provision of extra lights and festive atmosphere.
I have been known to be quite critical of their past efforts, but on this occasion it was actually a pleasure to visit.
In this current economic climate it can be difficult to find a balance of provision, but it`s on the right track.
Hopefully in future years it will continue to improve and Southampton can then finally boast to be among the best.
So thank you to everyone concerned, and enjoy a Merry Christmas!
