A CYCLIST has been rushed to Southampton General Hospital after a crash.
Emergency services were called to Mansbridge Road, Ringwood, at 12.19pm today, following a collision involving a car and a cyclist.
A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said: "We were called to a road traffic collision on Mansfield road, Ringwood, involving a car and a cyclist.
"The cyclist was injured and has been taken to Southampton General Hospital."
A South Central Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 12.14 with the caller reporting a collision between a cyclist and a car on Christchurch Road (between the B3347 and Woodstock Lane).
"We sent an ambulance and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to the scene.
"The cyclist was a 50-year-old male who had sustained a serious head injury and after initial treatment at the scene he was then taken by road to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Southampton with the air ambulance team travelling in the ambulance with him."
