POLICE are investigating a hit-and-run accident in which a pedestrian was injured.
The 34-year-old victim was walking along Hythe Road in Marchwood when she was hit by a light blue car that failed to stop.
The woman, who asked not to be named, said she was going to work at 7.45am on Sunday when the collision occurred.
She said: "I walking towards the oncoming traffic on a section of road where there's no pavement. Several vehicles went by and then one hit me.
"I called my partner, who came out to me and then rang for an ambulance.
"I was taken to Southampton General Hospital and was there for about seven hours. I'm bruised from my hip down to my ankle and I'm quite stiff, although I'm able to walk."
The incident occurred near the Pilgrim Inn.
A police spokesman said: "We are investigating a fail-to-stop collision involving a car and a pedestrian that took place in Marchwood.
"A car and a 34-year-old woman from Marchwood were in collision on Hythe Road. The car, described as light blue, did not stop at the scene and enquiries are on-going."
