POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a major fire at a Southampton bookshop.
Officers are looking for anyone who was at the Waterstones store on Above Bar Street on Tuesday morning, when a fire broke out.
As previously reported, more than 30 firefighters rushed to the scene shortly after 12pm.
A 39-year-old from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of arson and then released under investigation.
No-one was injured but the store suffered significant damage.
Now officers are looking for anyone with information related to the incident.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: "Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the store at this time and before the fire started who may have witnessed something, or has any information to assist our enquiries. If you were in the store, or have any information, please call us on 101, quoting 44180085500, or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
