CIVIC chiefs have approved plans to bulldoze a Hampshire bungalow that is "riddled with asbestos".
An application to replace a plantation-style property at Bull Hill in Pilley was given the go-ahead at a meeting of the New Forest National Park Authority (NPA).
Boldre Parish Council had opposed the scheme, claiming the proposed new house was out of keeping with single-storey homes in the area.
But planning agent Jerry Davies, representing the applicant, told NPA members: "The existing property has no architectural or vernacular interest. It is also riddled with asbestos."
A report prepared by NPA planning officers added: "The plot is some character. However, the deteriorated state of both the main dwelling and outbuildings is also acknowledged.
"The main house, by virtue of its construction is not capable of meeting modern building regulation standards."
