RAIL passengers are facing delays and disruption this morning after thieves tried to steal signalling cables.
Trains were unable to go through Havant after the attempted theft near Rowlands Castle.
South Western Railway had to divert some trains via Eastleigh, while replacement buses have been wheeled in to help keep services running.
Network Rail engineers are currently on site repairing the damage.
However, they were unable to say when the work would be completed.
Passengers using trains through the Portsmouth and Havant are being asked to check for updates before they travel.
South Western Railway said delays were expected throughout the day.
The attempted cable theft is being investigated by British Transport Police.
