SOUTHAMPTON residents are being invited to leave their regular lives behind for one evening and find their inner detective all in the aid of charity.

This evening a murder mystery dinner and dance will take place at the Novotel in Southampton to raise money for Naomi House and Jacksplace, a hospice that cares for seriously ill children.

The lightheaded and fun event is set in a hotel where the manager has just revealed some rather unusual plans for his business.

But they are not to everyone’s liking and soon murder is on the menu.

Working as a team, players will have to put their detective skills to the test to interrogate suspects, find clues and solve the crime.

It is the third event organised by Bridget Wilkinson, Founder of local company MurderedforMoney, for Naomi House and Jacksplace.

Bridget said: “Naomi House is a stunning charity whose dedication, love and support help so many very ill children and young people, along with their families.

“We have enjoyed a number of events over the years that have raised much-needed funds for the charity and we hope that this one is no different. We are really excited to bring new characters and storylines with a few surprises thrown in.

“It’s going to a great night that will end in what we hope will be a large donation to a wonderful charity.”

Naomi House provides specialist hospice care to life-limited and life-threatened children from across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire Berkshire, Surrey, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight. Based outside of Winchester, the organisation’s clinical excellence and holistic approach means they are able to care for children with very complex needs. However, with only nine per cent of its funding coming from the government they reply on fundraising and donations.

Sarah Hudson from Naomi House, said: “We are very grateful to MurderedforMoney for putting on an event of this stature for us. These are always well-attended and we hope this one will be the same. There is a great atmosphere and people really get into the spirit of the story. We’re very much looking forward to it.”

A three course Dinner is provided, with a DJ for those guests who wish to dance the night away after the murder has been solved.
