A HAMPSHIRE hotel is will be hosting a curry and quiz night in aid of a charity which helps veterans.

The Holiday Inn in Winchester will be putting on the special event next month, which is being held for a third time following previous success.

Money raised will be going to Hampshire-based veterans charity Hounds for Heroes.

Sarah Waddington, sales manager at the hotel, said: "The hotel has worked closely with Hounds for Heroes for the last three years, sponsoring free accommodation in our eight fully adapted wheelchair friendly rooms, which we felt could be utilised to help this worthwhile charity.

"Our staff and guests at the hotel love seeing the assistance dogs working with the veterans and seeing the positive life changing difference they can make.

"We have raised £1429 so far from the first two events and want to add to that total, so that the charity can train more dogs to help injured service men and women.”

As well as the charity quiz devised by hotel general manager Marc Solarz, there will also be a curry buffet cooked by the Holiday Inn Winchester's two-AA-Rosette-winning team.

Ticket for the event on October 12, with food being served at 7pm and the quiz starting at 7.45pm, cost £14.95. To book call 01962 670 700.
