HEDGE End was transformed into a swirl of colours as the annual carnival returned.
The village got into the party spirit with hundreds of people lining the street to enjoy the carnival parade on Saturday.
The procession started in St John's Road just after 2pm and moved through the village before heading to Greta Park where the traditional fete took place.
Several artists performed at the park during the afternoon, including the Vintage Sounds Choir and the Southampton Aerial Skills.
Residents had also the chance to enjoy the Pedal Power vs Parkour, a show that saw performances combining the skill, balance and power of a trials rider, the tricks of a BMX rider and the finesse of a parkour athlete.
Organised by the Hedge End carnival committee, the event is run at the start of July every year and celebrations remained unchanged despite England playing in the quarter-finals of the World Cup on Saturday afternoon.
Nick Wise, chair of the carnival committee, said: "Hedge End carnival has been on the same day at the same time for well over 50 years it does not change for anything."
