A RESCUE crew from Southampton raced to help a motor boat which became stuck in the Solent.

The 18ft vessel ran into trouble in the early hours of this morning, after running aground while fishing off Warsash shore.

A B Class Atlantic 85 Lifeboat was launched by the Southampton Coastguard Rescue Team at 1.19am this morning.

The volunteer crew assisted in locating the casualty vessel, but arrived on scene to find the boat had refloated.

Crew checked the two people on board were warm and well and happy to return to their berth at Kemp’s Quay.

The lifeboat escorted the casualty boat until it was safely back in the deep water channel before returning home.
