A CAMPAIGN to raise money for the 13-year-old girl who was found dead in Southampton Sports Centre has hit its £5,000 target in just 24-hours to pay for her funeral.
Residents and those close to teenager Lucy McHugh have rallied around her family in a bid to raise money.
The youngster's body was discovered in woodland near the ski slope at the centre at around 7.45am on Thursday morning.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and having sexual activity with a child.
He remains in custody.
On the fundraising page, which was set up by Max Kelly, donations are being asked from those wanting to help out.
It reads: "Imagine unexpectedly losing your child I couldn't imagine the pain could you?
"Now imagine on top of that having to find funeral costs etc while grieving - it's not something any parent should have to do.
"Sharing a status saying RIP doesn't help the family give their beautiful girl the send-off she deserve with whatever you can afford to help the family."
